Thank you for all your support. Although our campaign did not end with election, we at least provided the opportunity for choice and brought education, planning and other issues to the forefront. Some good will result from our efforts.

Rick's Biography

Richard (Rick) Wallace was born February 21, 1963 and grew up in Guilford County. He attended Northeast Guilford High School, graduating in 1981, and then joined the Army. After 9 years of distinguished military service as a member of the 82nd Airborne, Staff Sergeant Wallace left the Army and returned to Guilford county in order to devote more time to his family.

Since moving to Pleasant Garden in 1996, Rick has been active in many areas. Rick is a plant supervisor for Unitex Chemical Company. He is a member of the Pleasant Garden Elementary PTA and has served on the Board of the Community Center, including a term as its President in 2003-2004. Along with his wife, Kelly, he serves the ministries of his church, Pleasant Garden Baptist where he also plays on the church softball team. Rick has coached many Little League baseball teams and is an active promoter of the Community Center and its sports program.

In 2005, Rick successfully ran for Town Council and was subsequently elected Mayor by his fellow Council members, serving a two year term ending in 2007. He presently continues to serve on the Town Council. Rick is also continuing his education at GTCC and  through Vincennes University, Vincennes, IN.

Rick and his family: wife Kelly, children Madison, Austin, Brandon and Mary Grace, along with the family pet, Nick—a 6 month old Shi-Poo—have their home at 6404 Manorhaven Place in Pleasant Garden.
