Thank you for all your support. Although our campaign did not end with election, we at least provided the opportunity for choice and brought education, planning and other issues to the forefront. Some good will result from our efforts.

You can vote for Rick in the primary if you are registered as either Republican or Unaffiliated (independent).

You may register to vote, make changes to your registration (so you can vote for Rick) or obtain a mail-in registration form at the following locations in Guilford County:

  • Board of Elections Office - 301 W Market St, Room 115, Greensboro or 505 East Green Drive, Room 103, High Point (forms are available in Spanish)
  • At any Greensboro or High Point public library
  • On the Internet

Registration form may be submitted by mail to: Guilford County Board of Elections PO Box 3427 Greensboro, NC 27402.

If you use one of the above methods, you must register at least 25 days prior to the election (April 11, 2008 for the May 6 primary). If you miss the 25 day deadline for voter registration, you may still register and vote during Early Voting.

To vote during Early Voting, a resident must fill out a voter registration application and prove residency by providing appropriate identification with current name and current address. The new registrant may vote ONLY at a One-Stop Early Voting Site and not on election Day. You may not change your party affiliation as part of the One-Stop process.

Vote by Mail

A voter does not have to be absent to vote by mail. No-excuse "absentee" voting will be permitted for all elections.

Any registered voter of Guilford County may request an absentee ballot by mail no later than 5:00 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the election (April 29, 2008 for the May 6, 2008 primary). Here's how:

The voter completes a request written entirely by the requester and includes the following:

  • Complete name
  • Current residence in Guilford County
  • Mailing address for ballot
  • Party (If election is a primary)
  • Date of birth
  • Phone number or contact number
  • Signature of voter

Vote During Early Voting

Early voting starts April 17 and ends May 3.

You may vote at any of the 12 early voting sites regardless of your regular voting place.

 

Vote on Election Day

Vote at your regular polling place on May 6, 2008 between 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM.
